AIChE Leadership

I am committed to being a leader within the engineering community. Since 2014, I have been a volunteer and leader with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). I am currently the Chair of AIChE's Young Professionals Committee. Scroll to learn more about my current AIChE leadership efforts!
AIChE Young Professionals (YP) Committee
I am the Chair of the AIChE Young Professionals Committee (YPC) for 2022. As Chair, I help to lead and create all AIChE programming and efforts for young chemical engineering professionals across the globe. During my year as Chair, I am focusing on increasing YP membership and engagement as well as making actionable progress towards AIChE's IDEAL initiative within the YP community.
Workshop and Session Leader for AIChE
I have developed a led multiple workshops for AIChE conferences. I created and presented session on "K12 Outreach for Chemical Engineers" at the Spring 2019 AIChE Meeting and for a Local Sections Webinar in 2019. I have lead a workshop on "Applying to Graduate School and Research Fellowships" at the 2019, 2020, and 2021 AIChE Annual Student Conferences. In 2021, I presented a session on "How to Share Your Research with Everyone" at the AIChE Annual Meeting, in an effort to increase science communication efforts within the Institute.
I have also been the keynote speaker for the Susquehanna Valley AIChE Local Section Awards Ceremony in 2019 and 2020, presenting a talk on "Is Chemical Engineering for Me?" to an audience of high school students interested in engineering.
Poddar Award for Rising Star in Chemical Engineering
In 2019, I was honored to receive the inagural Poddar Award for Rising Star in Chemical Engineering from AIChE. This award is presented to an AIChE young professional "for their contributions to AIChE, chemical engineering and society, one who shows potential for future growth and leadership."

Taking on New Leadership Roles
I was recently elected to Dr. Christine Grant's Presidential Taskforce on Mentoring. As a part of this team, I meet monthly with chemical engineering leaders across academic and industry to discuss mentoring needs and initiatives within AIChE. Recently, I was also chosen to serve as a member of the Career and Education Operating Council (CEOC) for 2023-2025.
